Imla Guest Farm
The guest farm is a working farm, Waterfall, within the IMLA Farm Group, on land which is part of Marabeng Mountain, according to the Sesotho-speaking locals. A grand sandstone house, dating from the late 1800s, has been beautifully restored and expanded to a modern guest house.
Rooms have all been uniquely finished. Various accommodation options are available for single guests, couples, families and groups. Dinner, bed and breakfast or self-catering, the latter available in one unit. Our en suite rooms boast fire places for red or glühwein winter’s evenings.
Use IMLA Guest Farm as the ideal base from which to explore endless Eastern Free State landscapes. We offer 2 x 4 & 4 x 4 trails, mountain biking, hiking & horseback rides, fishing and swimming in the dam. Drink it all in from the Boma under the Waterfall Oak Tree.
Early morning veld freshness, birdsong, relaxing and active days, ending in unforgettable gatherings around the fire, under sandstone starry night skies.

Rusty Gate Mountain Retreat
A special place to relax and enjoy nature, where you can see the stars at night with no city lights in sight!
If you are looking for a serene and picturesque place to rejuvenate body and soul, Rusty Gate Mountain Retreat is perfect for you.
Rusty Gate is truly a Mountain Retreat, nestled in the Riviersonderend Mountains, with unsurpassed vistas over the Helderstroom valley and Overberg area. The property, spanning 290 hectares, lies adjacent to the Riviersonderend Nature Reserve, abounds with fynbos and proteas and offers ample for nature lovers to enjoy.
Less than 120km from Cape Town International Airport (approximately 1½ hour drive along the N2 towards the Garden Route) this special getaway is conveniently situated midway between Greyton and Villiersdorp.
Our self-catering accommodation comprises five beautifully furnished cottages, each with its unique style, as well as Eagles Eyrie, a special communal entertainment and sleeping unit.
Set high on a plateau in the heart of the Amathole Mountains, the Hogsback Inn was the first hostelry on the mountain and was built in 1880 by Mr Collins.
Today, almost 140 years on, Hogsback Inn has grown from its humble beginnings of providing accommodation and shelter to weary travelers, travelling between Alice and Cathcart (no indoor plumbing back then; guests would have to bathe in the stream running through our garden).
Hogsback Inn is not only an olde world Country Hotel providing for much needed R&R from the stresses of modern day life, but is also a sought after (and very popular) Wedding and Conference Venue.
We look forward to welcoming you to our little piece of paradise!!
